Blog Post #10: Past Classes
For our homework assignment, we had to take a look at Project 3s from past classes. So, I went to the list of students from a past class, and randomly chose to look at the work of a student named Vivi Newynne. While trying not to get distracted by her cool website, I found her project 3 under its tab. For this assignment, her topic was about being a CRNA and she chose a cartoon, Instagram, and a song as her three genres. Her cartoon was the first genre I looked at and the first thing that jumped out at me was how cool they were. She definitely can draw. Her cartoons easily grabbed my attention and I am pretty sure it will grab anyone else’s. This cartoon was about CRNAs, nursing and its cost for anesthesia. The second genre I looked at was her Crnalogo Instagram. Although I cannot see any posts because this Instagram is private, I can see that the profile picture is a logo for her topic. The last genre I took a look at, was her song she posted on Soundcloud. This song is about Crna nursing. I am not entirely sure of the rhetorical appeals used in each genre, but I think that for the cartoon, it appeals to logos and pathos because she describes how crnas care for their patients, how expensive it is for anesthesia, and allows people to relate to this healthcare provided. The Instagram page could appeal to ethos because the logo makes her topic seem legit, and the song could appeal to pathos because some people can relate to not knowing what to expect when being put under anesthesia before surgery.
