1 Minute Pitch for Project 3
Do you know what it takes to be a doctor? Many say they do, but don’t really understand the extent of time and hard work that goes towards one’s development into their career field. Besides being able to wear a cool lab coat, getting paid well, and performing life-saving actions and procedures people see on television, it is not always what it seems. A lot of people view doctors as heroes and heroines, but what they are not aware of is the intense process that medical students have to go through that only results in the best of the best entering the medical field as doctors. My plan for project three is to create a chart that provides statistics on the grade and test scores of those who applied to medical school and those who are accepted, as well as, the number of students who start out as premed majors or med majors, and the number of those who graduate as premed or med majors. I also plan to create a poster based on the famous “I want you” U.S army recruitment propaganda to make a “do you have what it takes to be a doctor?”, or use the “we can do it” army propaganda to make a “we can do it” poster geared towards med students who want to be doctors. For my last genre, I plan on creating either a picture collage, or a composite video that encompasses the typical experience of medical students, from the stress and burnout they face, to the fascination they face when getting hands on experience with medical cases, and even the mixed reactions graduating students have on match day.
